Foseco has joined forces with its engineering partner, Pro Service Srl, to offer its customers state-of-the-art coating application control technology.
Foseco’s fully automated Coating Preparation Plant controls coating density in real-time, delivering greater consistency in wet layer thickness. Thus, coating performance can be optimised to deliver a range of benefits to the foundryman including reduced coating layer related defects and subsequent casting scrap; lower core scrap; reduced coating consumption and waste disposal, improved productivity and an enhanced working environment.

In addition, the continuous measurement system provides excellent data for improved process control, calibration and auditing.

The equipment consists of a mixing and storage tank for the coating paste, an automatic coating preparation tank which facilitates a consistent density and a coating dipping tank or catch tray.

The CPP is designed to accommodate a wide range of application methods including spray, dip and over pour and can be connected to all major packaging systems from drums to bulk silos.
