Foseco launches new running and gating system components for heavy iron castings
Foseco‘s HOLLOTEX EG Running and gating system components  
HOLLOTEX EG Runners are a range of lightweight running and gating system components with simple push-fit connections.
 
They are ideally suited to the production of heavy iron castings up to 15 tonnes poured weight.
 
The HOLLOTEX EG Runner range offers several main advantages over traditional clay ceramic systems. 

The density of the HOLLOTEX EG Runner material is just 10% of clay ceramic which when combined with thinner wall thicknesses makes the parts much easier to handle.

 

HOLLOTEX EG Runner components are less prone to breakage than clay ceramic parts.

 

The pieces can be easily cut to size with greatly reduced levels of dust.

 

The push fit components are quick and easy to assemble with no need for gluing or taping.

 

Low after cast residues in the sand system avoid the need for sieving of small fragments. The benefits of the HOLLOTEX EG Runner system are improvements in productivity through reduced assembly times, an improved working environment with less dust and easy to handle pieces; lower stockholding since parts can be cut to the appropriate size and a low risk of sand contamination from runner system particles.
